IRD Payments

PAYING TAX BY CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD
You can now use your credit or debit card to make all online payments to the Inland Revenue Department. This may be an option for the tax payment due on the 28th August.
With the exception of overseas payments for student loans and non-custodial child support payments a 1.42% convenience fee per transaction will apply to all credit and debit card payments. This fee will be identified on your card or account statement as "Westpac Convenience Fee".
Note that you DO NOT need to be a customer of Westpac to use the debit or credit card service. Payments can be made with either Visa or Mastercard credit and debit cards.
To make an online debit or credit card payment, go to www.ird.govt.nz. You can use the SEARCH function on the right hand side, and key in the following words -'debit credit card'. This will guide you through the process of making the online payment.
